Welcome!!!

Whether you have stumbled upon my small little corner of the world wide web by accident or you have past joined me on this journey as a fellow life-long learner, WELCOME!

I originally designed this space in an effort to share a collection of resources that I have found to be thought-provoking, challenging, and empowering.  Upon further consideration, I chose to take a few steps outside of my comfort zone and add a space where I could publish some of my own writing and reflections.  From the time I could pick up a book, I have loved reading.  Some of my favorite memories from childhood are centered around the times that my family spent reading together, diving into wondrous worlds that fed our curiosity about the world around us; I still associate different stages of my life with different books, authors, and stories.  Comparatively, my love for writing is still a novelty, but I have grown to depend on the process of putting pen to paper to help me self-reflect, unwind, challenge myself, and become more self-aware.

By sharing these reflections, my hope is to inspire my students to be brave and to be proud of who they are and what they have to offer.  I hope that I can offer some comfort to my fellow teachers by reminding them that they are not alone and that it will be okay in the end--and if it's not okay, it's not the end.  I hope to remind myself that it takes the good, the bad, and the ugly to learn how to appreciate the simple wonders around me.  Perhaps one day, this space will become a community where courage and kindness gather to share the weight of the world--and the dreams that come with wanting to make it bit more like the ones we imagined as children.

I'm a Secondary English Education graduate from Appalachian State University.  I am currently seeking my Masters in Reading Education and I have a special interest in working with Bilingual Learners and diverse communities.

Anyhooo...I guess I should probably include a small blurb about me...

I love to travel, play around with photoshoots, and seek out the most local place in a town to shop and eat!!  And, for some reason dandelions, local markets, and small farm animals make me really happy.
