This Poetry Exploration has been divided into four parts; the first three parts aim to make poetry more accessible to students and study some of the more common techniques that poets use in their craft and the last part invites students to try their hand in writing poetry using the techniques they have studied. The activities included have been pulled from various free resources via TeachersPayTeachers and Pinterest, as well as from Georgia Heard's Awakening the Heart. Many of the mentor poems used in exercises are from Kwame Alexander's Out of Wonder, and most of the examples for each of the exercises are my own.
*The full exploratory can be accessed via this link here.*
(The best way to view this resource is to use the link or the PDF; I have tried my best to include the content included within the poetry exploration below, but the image quality is limited).
